Seed 2.0 Pro is a closed multimodal frontier model that benchmarks close to the American flagships and costs a small fraction of them, which is the whole strategy. Inside China it is everywhere, backed by ByteDance's own distribution. Outside it, the practical problems are the ones every Chinese closed model faces: hosting, data policy, and a much thinner ecosystem of tooling in English.
